WhatsApp may soon allow users to choose the quality of video before sharing

instant messaging app whatsapp may soon allow its users to choose the quality of the video they want to share. Currently there is no choice in that regard as the app compresses them by default before sending them.
This was noticed by WABetaInfo, the online channel that follows the changes and future features of the Facebook app
How does custom video quality sharing help?
When this feature is rolled out, users should be able to select which videos they want in high resolution and which ones they like in low resolution.
Furthermore, this support enables WhatsApp users to save a lot of space in the overall WhatsApp backup. This, in turn, will help save space in Google Drive (in the case of Android phones) or iCloud (in the case of iPhones).

What options does WhatsApp expect to offer?
According to the screenshot from WABetaInfo, WhatsApp offers three options to choose from.
The first is Auto which is said to be recommended. The report doesn’t go into the details of it, just says that the app will detect the best compression algorithm for specific videos. There is no word on internet connectivity or storage space involved.
This is the quality in which the video is exchanged on the platform.
This should compress videos before sending them.
When is this feature expected to roll out?
According to WABetaInfo, the feature was spotted in the Android 2.21.14.6 beta version of the app. However, it is currently in development and expected to be rolled out at a later date. Even though it has been spotted in an Android beta version of the app, the company is expected to roll it out for iOS users as well.
