Witcher: Witcher fans will have to wait longer for the next game, here’s why

CD Project Red is going to keep witchercon, a Gadgetlinkal event dedicated to his The witcher games and the fantasy universe. This year’s event will take place on July 9th and will be streamed live on YouTube and Twitch. It will focus on creating the games, merchandise and expert lectures on the lore, the monsters and other features of the world of The Continent.
While fans expect some reveals and other interesting content during the event, the developer has already cleared the air regarding the announcement of the next Witcher game by saying it won’t happen.
For the moment, the teams under the Polish video game developer are working on Cyberpunk 2077 only content and until that’s done they won’t start the next Witcher games. Since the video game studio is known for creating immersive open world games, the news shouldn’t come as a surprise.
Just because they won’t be announcing the game at the event doesn’t mean they don’t have plans for it. The next game in the Witcher universe was confirmed last year. It would be the fourth game in The Witcher series, but will not be a direct sequel to The witcher 3: Wild Hunt and will not be called The Witcher 4. Would it be inspired by the books or would it be a prequel and based on what happened before the events of the first Witcher game that came out in 2007? It looks like fans will have to wait a long time for CD Projekt Red to make an announcement about the next Witcher game.
